Happy Thanksgiving Break!
Posted 11/20/19

Dear Fairburn Families,

Thanks to each of you that have taken time this week to attend your child’s Parent Teacher Conference.

Each family was sent and envelope last week with a paper LAUSD School Experience Survey (one per family sent to the oldest sibling).  Did you already fill out the School Experience Survey? Please send back the white envelope or complete the survey online at  Please enter your survey code with no spaces or dashes. Your survey code is the 10 numbers printed near the bar code on your printed survey, that was sent home in an envelope. If you do not have your code, enter 0000 followed by your child's 6-digit birth date with no dashes or slashes. For example, if your child was born October 11, 2007, enter 0000101107.  Thanks for your participation.  We are shooting for 100%! If you do take the survey online, pleasesend a quick note to your child’s teacher so that your child gets credit for having the survey complete.

We are about to have a week off from school for the Thanksgiving holiday.  School will be closed November 25 - 29, 2019. This is a perfect time to practice the attitude of APPRECIATION. I want to take a moment to thank all of our teachers, staff and parents, but especially our hard working volunteers for the support and energy you bring to our school and our programs.  As we gear up for all the activities rushing towards us as we head for the month of December, the staff and I are reminded again and again of the important contribution all you make to Fairburn Avenue Elementary School.  We truly appreciate everything that you do.

The Thanksgiving holiday offers a special opportunity for us all to pause and reflect upon the blessings that each of us has in our lives.  It is a time to hold families and friends just a little closer – to give a few extra hugs and share a few more laughs.  Life gets so busy that sometimes it is easy to forget to let people close to us know how much better our lives are because of them.

I wish you and your family a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday.
