More Donors Choose Cards at Starbucks Tomorrow! (Jan 23)
Thanks to the Wasserman Foundation, starting January 23rd, select Starbucks stores in the city of Los Angeles will distribute $10 DonorsChoose.org gift cards with purchase, while supplies last. (See a list of participating stores.) These gift cards can be used to support any Fairburn classroom project on DonorsChooseLA.org.
The length of time cards are available in stores will vary depending on the store. For the best chance of receiving a card, we recommend visiting a local Starbucks early on the 23rd. We estimate cards will last somewhere between 2-6 days.
Donors who already redeemed a Wasserman Foundation gift card distributed by LAUSD in December will be able to redeem an additional gift card obtained at a local Starbucks. Gift cards cannot be redeemed on behalf of others, and are limited to one per person in order to reach as many Los Angeles residents as possible. A maximum of 75 cards can be applied to projects from one teacher.

It's a New Year and We're Getting Ready for the Auction! Help us get started!
Local businesses are already receiving requests from other schools ...help keep Fairburn at the top of their lists!
Ask at all your regular stops -- favorite restaurants, clothing stores, dry cleaner, car wash, spa, hair or nail salon, dance classes, birthday party locations, friends, family, anyone!
We would like every family to bring in at least one donation. Class participation prizes* will be awarded (*you must include your children's class info on the form for your child's class to receive credit for the donation).

Why start asking for donations now?
It's easy to ask while running errands or holiday shopping! Local businesses are happy to support school auctions — many schools are already soliciting donations. Asking early keeps Fairburn at the top of their lists!
Who can you ask?
Any business you frequent: your favorite restaurant, clothing boutique, dry cleaner, car wash, spa, hair or nail salon, your kids' classes, birthday party locations, activities and camps, friends, family, anyone!
Keep a stack of letters/forms in your car and drop one off with each errand.
*Include children's class info on bottom of form to ensure your child's class receives credit for the donation.

All receipts dated after September 14th received double points when submitted to the school office or Westside Pavilion Guest Services in January. This includes food court and restaurant receipts.
