Dear Fairburn Families,

I hope you had a restful long weekend.  These last weeks of February we will focus on our Read-a-thon and how we can encourage our students to read for pleasure at home.

This week on Friday, we will be dedicating our newly refurbished Play Structure on the big yard.  The ceremony will take place on Friday, February 23 at 9:00 AM.  Parents are welcome to join the event. Our donors and District friends and students will be in attendance. Once the structure has passed all safety inspections, students will be trained to play appropriately and safely on the structure and a schedule of supervised classroom use will be implemented, so that all students can play safely on the new structure.

Shortly your child’s teacher will be making appointments for our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences which will take place the March 5-9, 2018.  During that week of Conferences, March 5 – 9 we have Minimum Days on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we will dismiss at 12:30 PM and Tuesday will dismiss at 1:30 PM.

READATHON IS STILL GOING and it has been amazing!

Thanks to our AMAZING Fairburn families and Fairburn Staff, we have caught almost 150 Fairburn kids reading!!!!!!

And the reading is still going! Have a wonderful time going to the library, selecting books with your child and most importantly, enjoying lots of family reading time together.

Tuesday is our final night to catch kids reading, but the Readathon doesn’t stop there.  Next week, Friday March 2nd, will be a special assembly to celebrate the father of the “I Can Read” series, Dr. Seuss.  Your child is invited to wear a readable tee shirt (any tee shirt with words on it) and bring his/her favorite

Dr. Seuss or "I Can Read" book to show off at our school wide assembly and parade Friday, March 2nd 8:20 a.m.

Thank you for your continued support of our school!

Pam Marton, Principal
