The FYA is the annual fundraising drive, where each Fairburn family or supporter is asked to donate money that will be used to pay for school programs and services not funded by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).  (Funding for California schools is 49th among our 50 states) This year, the budget cuts have resulted in the elimination of key Fairburn academic support positions.  Your donations will be used to provide teaching assistants, computers and a computer instructor, a physical education coach, classroom supplies, field trips, playground maintenance and safety supplies.  These programs and services can not exist without your financial support.  By participating in Friends of Fairburn, you are not only helping your child, you are helping the entire Fairburn community.
